Picture slide show from Friday night Rehoboth Wedding Recap
Ok, worked from home today and I'm calling it quits and I have a few minutes before I need to start dinner so now is as good a time as any to try and give some updates here. A few weekends ago we went to our first wedding for friends that we've made down here, Casey and Colleen. They got married in Rehoboth Beach, DE which is the beach that everyone here goes to in the summer time. It is kind of like the Cape in that it is the place to go on the weekends and it is the place to spend the summers if you are young college kid or recent grad. The only issue is that it is at least a three hour drive, without traffic, so that was a bit of a shock being used to the Cape drive of about an hour and a half.So we left work early on that Friday and drove up there, our friend Parker's parents have a gorgeous beach house there and they were so nice to let us stay. So anyway we get up there around 8 or something and we go get a quick bite to eat and then the craziness begins, you know how the Friday night before a wedding can be. We end up going to a house party thrown by the groom's parents in a house they rented, I was drinking Johnny Walker Blue within about an hour, which was nice but a good indication of where the night went. We then went to the Starboard which is one of the crazy beach bars there. We were drinking Orange Crushes which are the drink of choice when at the beach. They taste like OJ but are lethal. We were having a great time and they had a Bruce Springstein band that was a spot on match, it was amazing. I got some pictures that are in the gallery. And I even got a few that I labeled The Boss if you want to go right to those. We were up till about two in the morning in the hot tub back at the house to finish off the night. So on Saturday morning none of were feeling fresh exactly, to say the least, but we all rallied and hit the church for the ceremony and then headed to the reception to do it all over again. The wedding was great, the food and drink were amazing, first wedding I've been to that had a mashed potato bar during the cocktail hour, and I've been to a lot of weddings. Great idea. The ceremony ended around 8 and then we headed to another bar to drink and watch the Sox, they won that night which was exiciting. So that was a few weekends ago, enjoy the pictures. I've got jury duty tomorrow which is kind of a bummer...off to cook dinner.
Video Of The Best Man ToastWe are headed out of town this weekend, again, for another wedding. This one is somewhat local, it is in Delaware, which is a three hour drive. We had a take home midterm for our Stats class so I've been working on that in the morning, in the evening and every free minute. But I finished it up this morning so we don't worry about it this weekend. Not sure when I'll get to do all my other homework but I'll worry about that later. So my mom was at the wedding last weekend and she had her camera with her and it has a video function. So, she was able to videotape my speech at the wedding, post it to youtube so I can now share it will the world, all 5 of you that read this site.I've done a lot of public speaking over the last several years with all the travel and stuff but I've never had to watch myself so I have to say it was a bit weird. Anyway, check it out, hope you enjoy and get some of the jokes...
Congrats To Alex and Aja
Sitting around tonight, watching the Pats get crushed, I have a feeling it is going to be a long, long season for them. At least we still have the Sox in a good spot and I'm a complete zombie right now after being up late last night watching extra innings game. This weekend was our first weekend in DC in a while so we just relaxed, got caught up on stuff around the condo and spent a good amount of time doing homework, the beauty of being in school. So Alex and Aja's wedding was last weekend and it was an awesome time. I've got lots of pictures linked below from the festivities over the long weekend. On Friday a bunch of us went fishing and didn't catch a darn thing, there were also some of the choppiest seas I've ever been on, which didn't make fore an easy time.Overall it was such a good time, we got to see and hang out with people that we hadn't seen in a long time. We all grew up together but nowadays we are all living across the country so when we do have an opportunity to get together it is usually a ridiculous time, as I think the pictures will show.Well, we've got class again tomorrow and on Tuesday and then we have another wedding this upcoming weekend. This one is actually in Delaware, about three hours from us, so it is somewhat local. It is the wedding of some friends of ours down here and should be a great time as well.I'll try to check in this week, enjoy the pictures...Fishing Trip
Rehearsal Festivities Wedding Mandy And Dan Wedding Photos
Moving pictures over to Picasa has proved to be pretty easy so I've started moving some of the smaller album over. In the process of doing this I realized that I never posted the pictures from Mandy and Dan's wedding in the Bahamas from November, my bad guys. Anyway, we didn't take too many and they weren't Tracy Paparazzi's best work but I've posted them in the new album - http://picasaweb.google.com/brianpfitzgerald.So check it out.
Congratulations To Jay And JoanneThis past weekend was a great one. My wife gave a partial recap over on NH Lady so I won't go into all the details and I'll share a few special tidbits here that she maybe didn't cover.First and foremost it was great seeing everyone. From Jay and Joanne, to Jay's entire family, to Sully and Erin, Otis and his girlfriend Caroline, Spencer, Pittie and many, many more people. As I mentioned previously I had the honor of being a groomsman in the wedding and playing that role was especially nice for me this past weekend because it allowed me to remember what friends and family really and truly mean. I won't get all sappy because we all know that isn't my bag but there was just something special about this weekend that was really nice and you really felt loved by everyone. I don't think I've hugged as many people as I did on Sunday when we were leaving in a long, long time.Secondly, as a groomsman I was in the position to get a real badass gift, shown below. Jay's gift to his groomsmen was a pair of personalized Dunk Lows which we wore for the wedding. Each pair was black and white but the third color was different for each of us (green for me) and the NikeID on the back was personalized for each of us as well. Each personalization had certain important meaning to Jay and the word on my pair is Boston which is for many reasons that Jay and I share. Pretty sick.
Lastly, I'm making a switch for the WTGW gallery. I'm likely going to retire the old school gallery I've been using for the last couple of years and start moving everything over to Picasa. I've uploaded the pictures from paparazzi Tracy into my first album on Picasa. So far I'm very impressed with the functionality and the way it works so I think I'm going to stick with it for a while. I don't know if I'll move all of the old stuff over because that is a pretty daunting task but if I end up having some free time I wouldn't put it past me, I'm pretty anal like that.Anyway, gotta go because we are going to try to and get up early and start doing the gym thing again.Congratulations to Jay and Joanne!
Busted Nose And Pimpin By The PoolSee this... Ouch We left on Wednesday AM, arrived at the hotel by noon. Just as I was about to lay down for a nap Tracy calls me and tells me that I have to come down and go on some water slides with Dan and his niece and nephew, I can sleep when I'm dead. I go down, take one trip down the Geronimo (that slide that goes straight down) and then the skies open up. Mandy and Dan's Wednesday night clambake gets moved inside but it's open bar and we hijacked the piano guys microphone and created our own karaoke. We all have too much too drink, go to the club, continue with shots of patron and then Dan teaches me how to play craps at 1AM and I end up winning $100. Not a bad first night.Thursday It was overcast most of the day but the sun came out for a bit. Tracy and I took a trip down the not so lazy river, I say that because it is a lazy river in some parts but crazy rapids and waves at other parts. Thursday night we had the rehearsal at the church and then a ridiculous rehearsal dinner at this great Italian restaurant right on the water. The clambake was good and the surf and turf at the wedding was great but this was my favorite meal of the trip, I put on an eating display. There was a little bit of late night gambling but most of us were wiped from the night before.Friday The big day. I spent most of the day with the groom and the best man laying by the "adult" pool and drinking $15 drinks, good times. It actually was. There is this one pool at Atlantis that is the place to be, there are no kids allowed, there is a DJ playing music, all of the lounge chairs are like beds and there are blackjack tables pool side. The rest of the day was a whirlwind, they got married there was a fire dancer at the cocktail hour who was rubbing fiery sticks on everyone without burning them. Tracy's speech at dinner was perfect and the wedding group of 80 people drank 23 bottles of grey goose and many shots of Ouzo.Saturday A full day of gorgeous weather by the pool, highlighted by me getting tossed of my raft in the rapids of the lazy river, getting stuck under the person behind me, getting tossed down the remainder of the rapids without a raft and slamming my knee in the process. We had more $15 drinks by the pool, I went down some sick water slides with Dan, I got sunburned pretty good and it was for the most part a great day. That night we went out to dinner with a big group and got to see the Junkanoo.Sunday we headed home completely wiped out. I didn't take many good pictures so I don't have anything to post and lastly congratulations to Mandy and Dan, it was a fantastic trip. That turned into a bit of a marathon post, I'll have more this week including our trip home for Turkey day. Leaving In 9 Hours For...
...The Bahamas. Can't wait. Mandy and Dan are finally getting married. I'm going to spend the next 5 days eating and drinking and playing blackjack.I've posted some pictures in the gallery from Scotland. It really was quite a trip. I took a tour on Tuesday and that is what the pictures are from.I've got more stories I could tell but I'm tired, need to finish packing and I'm getting up at 4AM to get to the airport. No rest for the weary or something like that. The good news about the wedding is that Tracy is in it, so she won't be able to snap pictures constantly in her paprazzi ways. I'll do my best to capture the major highlights.
