Damn The Poker Gods

I played in a poker tournament yesterday, it wasn't too big of an affair, 40 people and $40 a person. I finished about 15th or so and only because of one of the toughest beats I've taken in recent memory. I realize it's poker and that this stuff is part of the game and I'm not a sore loser when I'm at the table, I'm the first guy to shake the other guy's hand, but I do have a website so I'm going to talk about it.

Here is how it went down - I'm to the right of the button, blinds are 100/200, table folds around to the guy before me who was the chip leader and had probably 20K in chips, he raises to 600, I look at my cards and I have AK of clubs, I raise to 1200, the guy on the button has 700 left in chips and calls by going all-in, the guy who intially raised calls, flop comes A of hearts-3 of clubs-Q of spades, the guy acting before me bets 1500, I've got top pair with top kicker, the only hands that I need to worry about right now are AA-AQ-QQ, I call his 1500 and re-raise all in another 2200, he takes a while to decide and at that point I know that he has AK as well and so I'm hoping he folds, he calls and shows AK of spades and then comes the runner runner spades that give him the flush...whatever.

I can't complain as I've had a very productive weekend and have done a lot of work on the wedding website which will be revealed over the next couple of weeks so stay tuned.
