Nothing Much To Report Here

I've been going through one of those funks lately where I don't have much to talk about and haven't felt like making the effort. Going to the gym in the morning has been great but it has been kicking my ass and making me extremely exhausted in the evening when I usually get on the computer. Anyway I thought I would share a few links and news I've come across lately.

The US Navy base in San Diego is going to be spending $600,000 on landscaping to cover up the aerial image you see below because of the Nazi symbol that it represents. I didn't read up too much on whether this is believed to have been done purposefully back in the day or what but if it was they certainly weren't thinking about Google Maps giving everyone and anyone an aerial view.
Also check Spiral Frog for free MP3 downloads, I haven't really played around with it too much but I'd be interested in anyone's reviews.

This site called Gigapan is one of the cooler sites I've ever messed around with, honestly put aside a good hour if you are going to click on this link. You can zoom in so far to the finest little details, the Golden Gate bridge picture is one of my favorites.

Lastley I've been adding some videos to my You Tube profile so check that out using the link to the right side of the page. Specifically Saudi Sandals and some of the selected Ghost Ride the Whip videos. All of these videos represent some people that are truly braindead.

Later.

What's The Good Word - January Links

It's been a long time coming for some links, some of these are from Steve Rubel's blog, which I try to read regularly and I've got a few links that will get their own dedicated posts. If I ever starting blogging with any regularity again.
  • 366 Games, 366 Days
Pretty sweet idea, not sure how someone has this much free time but...
  • Yes I'm Working
Not something that fits into my workday but if you have some down time at work this is a sweet site.
  • Get The Do It
Great site to hear new music and rate new bands.
  • Get Drunk Quicker
This article made me happy because I've been mixing with diet beverages for years!
  • Palm Springs Wind
It made me happy to know that the pros had to deal with the same ridiculous winds that we did.
  • Ahhh, Icey?
I didn't take the time to figure out where this was but this video is simply ridiculous. You have to have the sound up so you can hear the cars smacking into each other.

Not Sure How I Feel About Blogger

I wanted to post something last night but Blogger, the product that I use to publish this wreck that you call a website, was acting temperamental. It prompted me to switch over to some new, upgraded version of Blogger, which didn't exactly work. So I don't know where that leaves me.

If you are ever thinking of starting a blog/website use WordPress, not Blogger.

If you're bored at work today I would check out the new Live Local, Microsoft's version of Google Maps. I would also check out Ms. Dewey.

What's The Good Word October Links

After taking September off because of the wedding, honeymoon, etc. I'm back with some October links.
  • Fine Tune
I featured this a couple of weeks ago, awesome music site
  • 911 Video
I meant to post this last month. It is a 911 video that was filmed by a couple that lived blocks from the twin towers. They waited five years to finally make their video public. It's quite long and probably not for everyone but if your OK with the sort of stuff it is a must see.
  • Baby Name Wizard
I think the Sports Guy wrote about this site a few weeks ago. I spent a good hour typing in names.
  • How to Prank a Telemarketer
I can't remember who send me this one but absolutely hilarious, pretty loud so use headphones if at work.
  • My ESPN
I found this today, pretty cool site if you're a sports fan and looking to customize the info you get, kind of like a personalized ESPN.com for you.
  • Firefox 2.0
    It's out and it's great.

One Of The Cooler Sites I've Seen In A While

I came across this site called Finetune last week and I actually spent some playing around with it last night. It is a very slick, fun, easy way to create an interactive playlist for you to either listen to, for free, through their site or post, for free, on your own website or blog. I've been looking for an easy and cool way to allow visitors to play music on WTGW and I think I may have found it. So here it goes...

What's The Good Word - August Links

May Links

I do a lot of surfing on the Internet and every once and awhile I'll share a fun or interesting link or story that I think is worthwhile. A lot of bloggers post daily or weekly links and I think it is about time that I start sharing all of my links. I'm going to start slow and post monthly links on...you guessed it...a monthly basis. Here are my links for May:

Some Randoms

Christopher Walken Running for President

I read online yesterday that Christopher Walken is planning to run for President in 2008 and I thought...cool...I like him.

Turns out this is a hoax...bummer I thought we would get "more cowbell" for everyone.

Fed Ex Needs to Ease Up

Jose Avila was just a poor kid that couldn't afford to buy furniture, we've all been there, so he got creative and built some furniture of his own.

Only problem is that Fed Ex got wind of this and didn't appreciate it and filed a lawsuit against Jose.

Give me a break...he's obviously a fan of FedEx...they should have promoted the shit out of him and his site and offered him a job. Instead they filed a lawsuit and are getting torn apart by people on the Internet.

New Cast Iron Grill

Check out this bad boy...cast iron, dual purpose, enamel finish and pre-seasoned. Since we can't have a grill on our balcony this is how we grill and this is the only way to go.
