Miller Lite Lax In The House

Believe it or not lacrosse season is about to be in full swing. Team Miller Lite, formerly Chevy Chase lacrosse, already has a few practices under our belt and we have practice today even though it is around 30 degrees outside. Having had to play up in Boston at this same time of the year while in college the temperature isn't what bothers me, it's the chance that I might break my only reliable stick and no my stick is not so old that it is made of wood.

Anyway, I'll try to do better of giving updates through the site here but if we stink again I might not have too much to say. Even though our team name has changed we are still sponsored by Tommy Joe's so that is still something to be proud of.

Pool Side, Poker and Pussers

We had a doozy of a weekend and it's back to work tomorrow for a day before the fourth. Actually my weekend was pretty typical it was Tracy that decided to drink to much on Friday night and stay in bed until 4PM on Saturday. While Tracy was in bed I enjoyed the pool with Chris and Laura as planned and then we had a relaxing Saturday night with some friendly poker and some Pusser's rum.

Today I got some errands done, including the purchase of some new cleats. I had used the cleat below since sophomore year of college and during our first Summer league game on Thursday it busted open at the end of the first half. Luckily one of the guys had an spare pair of cleats so I could finish out the game. For those of you wondering we lost again even though our Summer league team is supposed to be pretty good.

Catching Up

I had the opportunity to go to the Red Sox vs. Orioles game last week with some old workmates from Boston. They had an extra ticket and were nice enough to invite me. We had a couple groups of seats so I ended up getting to sit in a couple different places over the course of the night. Yes, the game I was at was the Red Sox first loss to Baltimore in 14 games, I have some mush qualities in me. Here are a couple of pics.

Camden

Chevy Chase Lax's season ended yesterday with a loss to the Guinness team. If you are wondering why I haven't written anything about our games over the last few months it's because we were pretty awful, as in no wins awful. As far as lacrosse goes we could use some work but it is a great group of guys and we're sponsored by my favorite local bar so it's is definitely worth it. The summer season will start in a month or so and I guess we are a little bit more competitive in that league. I think most of our games are against the sister's of the poor so we clean up on the competition.

Weekend Warriors

Had a nice little weekend, hope you all did too. On Saturday Tracy, Chris, Laura and I went to the Maryland vs. Virginia lacrosse game. The game itself was a blowout but we got to see a bit of College Park and got to do a little bit of tailgating on a gorgeous day.

We kept drinking most of the day and ended up in bed pretty early after a nice dinner and some cigars.

On Sunday Chris and I played lacrosse and to put it bluntly, we suck. We got shut out by a team that we should have beaten. Our defense is pretty good so that is all that I can really affect, so I'm happy with that and I'm getting to play enough.

Still burning the candle at both ends this week but I'm taking Friday off to go Seaview and play some golf with Al and then Saturday we are all going to the Sox game at Camden so I'll guarantee some stories next week.
