I Think iTunes Might iSuck

If you read this site with any frequency you know that I love Rhapsody and the music subscription that I have with them. Because I had an MP3 player before I had an iPod I had always used Rhapsody to manage the music on my MP3 player. When I finally did get an iPod (which I enjoy much more than the several MP3 players that I’ve had) I continued to use Rhapsody because I was familiar with it and because that is where all of my purchased music resides. Yes, I do actually purchase some music, probably about 75%.

Well the other day for shits and giggles I opened up iTunes, to manage my iPod, and started messing around, it prompted me to update the iPod software and the iTunes software which I went ahead and did figuring it couldn’t hurt. Well an hour later on a mini road trip to BWI I discovered that none of the music that I had purchased through Rhapsody and transferred to my iPod would play.

After some research I found that I was not the only one that has experienced this same issue. I find the idea that Apple might be disabling songs purchased through other subscriptions sites somewhat troubling and therefore I'll be using Rhapsody and only Rhapsody from here on out.

Has anyone else had trouble with there iPod? Does anyone else use Rhapsody? Does anyone care?
