Kara and Anthony's Wedding
As you know we were home again, for another wedding and again we've got some pictures. I'm not going to say much more than that because we've been home for several weddings, they have all been great, it is always great when we get to see everyone, so let's not rehash everything. Aside from Kara's wedding we've been home many times in the last couple of months for Nate's Wedding, my bachelor party, Tracy's shower, Hampton Beach and many other trips. Although I will say that the prime rib at Kara's wedding was delicious.Stillbreather.com I'm happy to report that Stillbreather.com is finally live, up and running. I'm by no means a master web developer, it's something that I've taught myself a little bit about over the last several years but I think the site came out pretty well. After catching up with Jay this past weekend it sounds like the band is doing well. You can purchase their EP or a Stillbreather tee shirt through the site if you so choose.WTGW Readers I learned over the weekend that there are a handful of avid, dedicated WTGW readers that actually get pissed when I don't keep the site up to date and fresh. For all four of you, I'll be using this as motivation on those days when I might not have much to say.Andrew Michael Pacheco We actually got to meet Drew Pacheco (see previous post) and he's great. He slept mostly but congrats again to Mike and Heather.Trifecta I missed the trifecta this weekend by one. We hit Joe's (Ken's) hard on Saturday afternoon for a chicken parm which resulted in chicken parm burps for the remainder of the day. We scarfed down some Dag's on Sunday and we just didn't have time to or the stomach to hit up Bob's in Medford on Monday after a scrumptous, free hot breakfest at the Residence Inn Westford. A Good Old Fashion BBQ
Our friend Meredith has some relatives right down the street, in Chevy Chase, which is just minutes from where we live. Not only do they live in a 9 bedroom home but they have a real grill that they never use, so we had a BBQ with Chris and Laura. We had some burgers, some dogs, some keilbasa and some chicken, it was outstandingly delicious.Chris and I also enjoyed the projection screen TV and pool table in the basement along with some Red Stripe and of course Miller Lite, our team sponsor.I feel like a truck hit me this week, it probably has something to do with the lacrosse game I played on Tuesday in the 99 degree heat, something to do with not eating dinner last night and something to do with the pain in the ass hours I've been putting in.I'm ready to get aggressive with the weekend and really soak it up. There will be a trip to Macy's involved to invest some of the gift certs we got last weekend but other than that I'll be relaxing and getting mentality prepared for next weekend, which is the one...the only...bachelor party. Get ready...it's coming...and you can't stop it.
Where Are The Steak Tips
I'm on another food mission. Many of you might remember my quest for a decent turkey sandwich and many of you might remember that I was successful in my quest. Well another mission has recently come onto my radar.About a month ago it dawned on me that not once since we moved down here have I had steak tips, been offered steak tips on a menu or seen them for purchase in a store. In doing some general reconnaissance Tracy and I have learned that steak tips are indeed foreign to this area of the country. Well I'm not going to quit until I find some dang steak tips.Tracy and I are headed home this weekend and you can be damn sure that I'm going to have some tips. We'll be around Winchester briefly and then we'll be spending the weekend up at Hampton Beach for some relaxation, sun and sand. If you want to find me just look for the Irish kid with a farmer's tan and a steak tip sandwich sprawled out on Hampton Beach.
Frugal Joe's Ordinary Beer
We went to Trader Joe's this weekend so Tracy could stock up on three buck Chuck and an assortment of other wines. I always grab a couple of six packs when we go because they usually have a good variety of beers that I've never had and I've never been one to shy away from a frosty cerveza. This one particular six pack stuck out for me called Frugal Joe's Ordinary Beer and their marketing was simple and very effective (see picture below). As I looked at the pack I thought I'm a cheap, regular guy who likes beer...let me grab some of this and I have to say it was quite tasty too. Now it was $5 for the six pack so this was no premium brew but it was definitley on par with your typical light beers and I enjoyed it thouroughly. So next time you are out at Trader Joe's grab a six pack of Frugal Joe's Ordinary Beer.
Frugal Joe's Ordinary Beer Jackpot
For those of you that read my previous rant about finding a decent sandwich you'll be happy to know that I've found the sandwich that I was looking for. Saturday afternoon Tracy was out with some of her cronies doing some shopping and I decided to visit the next establishment on the list in my quest to find a decent sandwich in the Bethesda area. I ventured through town, weaved my way through the Bethesda Arts Festival and after a short walk came upon Bradley Food and Beverage. Now the website doesn't look like much but as soon as I walked into Bradley's F&B I knew it had major upside potential. After making the walk back home with my mouth watering I sat down and took my first bite and knew that I had hit the jackpot...
