Mondays are just bad, one thing I've learned is that scheduling classes for Mondays is a bad move. So next semester we are doing Tuesdays and Wednesdays. It just sucks when you have to spend most of your weekend doing homework.
This past week was mostly homework and class - Monday and Tuesday we had class, Wednesday night I did homework, Thursday we had a group meeting to finish up a paper that is due and today was more homework. Yesterday was actually a fun day as I went to the Maryland football game, we tailgated, it rained, the game was wet so we left at around halftime. We then hung out all night and played some cards, good man time.
Not much going on other than that. Eat, Sleep, Work, Class, Football Sundays...repeat.
Last month I wrote a post about Google Street View for Lake Street well the Google drivers finally came through DC and they have launched street view for our street. So here it is...
Our DC Place
It's nice if you want to stalk this guy on his bike or look at the Peapod drivers ass in his truck, lots of fun.
Ok, worked from home today and I'm calling it quits and I have a few minutes before I need to start dinner so now is as good a time as any to try and give some updates here. A few weekends ago we went to our first wedding for friends that we've made down here, Casey and Colleen. They got married in Rehoboth Beach, DE which is the beach that everyone here goes to in the summer time. It is kind of like the Cape in that it is the place to go on the weekends and it is the place to spend the summers if you are young college kid or recent grad. The only issue is that it is at least a three hour drive, without traffic, so that was a bit of a shock being used to the Cape drive of about an hour and a half.
So we left work early on that Friday and drove up there, our friend Parker's parents have a gorgeous beach house there and they were so nice to let us stay. So anyway we get up there around 8 or something and we go get a quick bite to eat and then the craziness begins, you know how the Friday night before a wedding can be. We end up going to a house party thrown by the groom's parents in a house they rented, I was drinking Johnny Walker Blue within about an hour, which was nice but a good indication of where the night went. We then went to the Starboard which is one of the crazy beach bars there. We were drinking Orange Crushes which are the drink of choice when at the beach. They taste like OJ but are lethal. We were having a great time and they had a Bruce Springstein band that was a spot on match, it was amazing. I got some pictures that are in the gallery. And I even got a few that I labeled The Boss if you want to go right to those. We were up till about two in the morning in the hot tub back at the house to finish off the night.
So on Saturday morning none of were feeling fresh exactly, to say the least, but we all rallied and hit the church for the ceremony and then headed to the reception to do it all over again. The wedding was great, the food and drink were amazing, first wedding I've been to that had a mashed potato bar during the cocktail hour, and I've been to a lot of weddings. Great idea. The ceremony ended around 8 and then we headed to another bar to drink and watch the Sox, they won that night which was exiciting.
So that was a few weekends ago, enjoy the pictures. I've got jury duty tomorrow which is kind of a bummer...off to cook dinner.
Because it should be pretty obvious that writing full blown blog posts about the happenings in DC, etc is becoming more and more difficult. I thought I would remind everyone to check out the Twitter updates on the right side of the site, just scroll down a bit. These are updates that I can make from online or from my phone and I'm going to try and be a bit more consistent with these because frankly they are quicker and easier...it's called micro blogging...whatever...you don't care. Just a reminder to check it if you keep coming to WTGW and find nothing.
If you can't tell it is becoming increasingly more difficult to make contributes to the website but I'll continue to plow ahead and do what I can. It's Sunday night and I'm sitting around watching some TV and catching up on a pile of magazines that has accumulated over the last month.
This weekend was pretty good, we had some friends from college in town and it was my buddy Doyle's birthday so we hung out with them on Saturday night and had great dinner at their place and went bowling and had a fun time. We even played some beer die, a drinking game from a previous life, man was I rusty. Every other free minute from this weekend - Friday night, Saturday morning and all day Sunday was devoted to homework and studying for a financial accounting midterm which is tomorrow.
I'm really looking forward to having a weekend where the homework volume is low and we have no plans so we can just relax a bit and get caught up on stuff around the condo and everything else. I don't think it will be next weekend because I have a human dynamics research paper that I have to start writing, sounds fine right?
I still have some pictures from last weekend that I need to get up online and hopefully I'll be able to do that this week sometime.
Well, now that the Sox season is over and it is Friday and I don't have time to write anything insightful I thought I would post this video instead. I got a good laugh.
